Bartenders must be 21 to serve spiritous liquor in the state of North Carolina. Other states require that bartenders only be 18. Students enrolling for the course must be 18 and understand the North Carolina alcohol law.
What does the training consist of?
Bartending University offers a complete course in a realistic environment. Classes include lecture and hands on training. Students cover alcohol law, etiquette, service standards, glassware selections, liquor labels, liqueur labels and flavors, beer & wine service, job seeking skills, private event planning, and basic bar management skills.
Where is the certification recognized?
The certification is accepted and recognized nationally. The certification does not expire.
Where is job placement available?
Bartending University offers job placement services in 120+ cities throughout the United States. Locally, we primarily serve Onslow, Craven, and Carteret counties.
Is job placement guaranteed?
Job placement is not guaranteed since Bartending University does not employ or particpate in the employment or hiring process. Bartending University provides job placement services to students and establishments with the understanding that the student is competent in all areas of bartending and informed in North Carolina alcohol law. Employers commit to providing a professional work environment. Bartending University works to help each certified student succeed after completing the course.
Are refresher courses available?
Bartending University offers refresher courses to any certified student that has previously completed the Bartending University program at no charge. At this time, we do not offer discounted refresher courses to those who have not completed the Bartending University program.
What is available after completing the course?
Bartending University offers ongoing support to certified students including job placement, bar management support, bar setup, product location, and refresher courses all at no charge.
What is the cost for the certification program?
The complete course and required materials cost $390. There are no additional fees, required materials, or tax.
What payment options are available?
You may make payment by cash, check, Visa or MasterCard. To enroll for a course, students guarantee enrollment by paying $200 of the $390 course fee. The balance is paid before the start of the course.
